Rutgers University distinguished professor Carl Van Horn, founding director of the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development, shares insights from his research, which looks at US workers’ attitudes toward government oversight of AI technologies and its impact on jobs. This work, which included a national random sample of US residents and workers, is important because “it’s a way for them to be heard in policymaking circles,” Van Horn says. The survey found that American residents and workers are aware of AI, and they’re concerned about it–across party lines, education and income levels, and other characteristics.
