The National Database of Childcare Prices is a new source of data provided by the US Department of Labor’s Women’s Bureau showing how prices vary by child care provider type and children’s age in 2,360 counties across 47 states. Using the database, the Women’s Bureau accompanying report shows that child care prices vary substantially across the country, but prices are untenable for families even in lower-priced areas.
